Firstly, a hearty Thank you to our members who volunteered to run Kitchen A during events over the last couple of months! Your hard work and time are so very much appreciated by everyone in our club!

We have a limited number of Crystal Mark 4th Edition of the Laws of the Sport of Bowls Handbook for sale, cost to the Club was $15, cost to JDF Members is $15, please e mail Jack if you would like one, first come first served,

Once payment is received I will attach your badge to your name on the tag board inside the clubhouse.
For those you would like to pay cash or cheque I will be at the club house Sunday morning May 28th for cutthroat, Tuesday evening May30th for cutthroat Wednesday morning May 31st for ladders and Saturday June 3rd for Family Fun Day/National Bowls Day at 1pm

A big thank you to everyone that came out and made this season’s opening draw a success.  It was great to see 2 novices join us; hopefully they can persuade some of their peers to join us next week.

Once again the Clubhouse door was found ajar, unlocked and the office door open at 5.15 pm this Thursday evening.

All Members are reminded that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that if you are last to leave the Club that the premises are secure regardless if there are Greenskeepers or other Westshore personnel around, or if you think someone else will be there shortly.

If in doubt lock it up anyway.

This is the third time this year already and we are not even at the end of May.

Please be diligent and aware.

In the last few years the Club has been purchasing new bowls to replace our old ones. We now need the space to store our new bowls, therefore we are selling off some of our older bowls.

For those who didn’t pre order and would like to purchase a shirt or hat, there is still stock available. Shirts are $30.00 and hats are $20.00 so send an email to me at jayar1950@icloud.com and I will add you to the list.

Gordon Head is planning to put in another order for AERO Bowls this month if you’re interested in order new bowls, go to https://www.aerobowls.com/products/groove to select the bowl you desire.  I need the following information

Last year we had a coaching night for all the Novices on Thursday evenings from 6-8pm that was very popular for our new bowlers, however many of our other club members expressed interest that this is something that they would also like to be included in for personal skills development.

Judy will be putting in an order for name badges for our new members and new coaches. These will reflect our new logo.

Reminder – The first game of Sunday Cutthroat will be next week, May 14th.  As this is a practice day, scores will not be recorded.

Our club is hosting The Galleon Mixed Pairs Tournament on May 20th and 21^st and your baking donations will be greatly appreciated as we will be providing coffee, tea and goodies during the event for a very reasonable price.   

At the request of our members we have posted the Club House phone number on our website. The number is now located on the side bar below Contact Us. Please note there is no answering service connected to the number and it will only be answered if someone is in the Club House.
