PREAMBLE
The Club’s original Constitution and Bylaws were adopted at the Annual General Meeting of October 15, 1995, and subsequently amended at the General Meetings of May 4, 1996, October 20, 1996, and September 26, 2001. Further, a revised Constitution and Bylaws, written to conform to the requirements of the new Societies Act, was adopted at the Annual General Meeting of September 30, 2017, and was updated and adopted at the Annual General Meeting of September 30, 2023. Therefore, this last version replaces all former Constitutions and Bylaws of the Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowls Club.
Article 1 THE SOCIETY NAME
The Society shall be known as the Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowls Club. All references hereafter to the “Club” in this Constitution and the associated Bylaws are to the Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowls Club.
Article 2 THE PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE SOCIETY
The aim of the Club shall be to encourage, promote and facilitate the playing of the game of lawn bowls in the Westshore and surrounding communities, and to provide the organization necessary for the enjoyment of the game at the Juan de Fuca lawn bowls complex.
