I have been corresponding with John Stubbs School, seemingly they are not doing their yearly ‘ fun day’ at Westshore next year however they are still interested in having lawn bowling sessions with selective groups of students who show prior interest in learning the sport, a bit early to know any specifics on and we may not know til next spring but may sound promising to get some juniors seriously interested.

Our annual visit from John Stubbs Middle School will take place on Tuesday June 24th where approximately 240 students will come to try out lawn bowling over 3 sessions during the day.
We will be looking for 20 volunteers for each session to show the kids about the sport we love, no special experience required just the desire and the patience to introduce lawn bowling to our younger generation.
There will be a sign up sheet posted on the notice board in the clubhouse later this week with session times, please sign up, your support and help will be greatly appreciated, it’s low key no pressure, this annual visit assists in our applications for Government grants for capital purchases for the Club.

Hello everyone
Opening day and a fun season of bowls and social events is almost upon us. I hope that all of you have had a happy, healthy winter and are as excited as I am to get back onto the greens.
Your Board of Management has been working together to prepare for the upcoming season: planning Open Houses, club and BSI tournaments, fun days, and finalizing the BSI tournament schedule. We were also successful in bidding for a Provincial Championship tournament. We will host the Men’s and Women’s Provincial Fours Championships between June 20th and 22nd. More to come later.
