As of a few weeks ago there were a few of the Provincial Playdowns (Juniors, Singles, Triples & Fours) set to be cancelled by Bowls BC due to lack of available Clubs willing to host, this would have resulted in British Columbia having no representation at the National Championships for these disciplines.
We are now pleased to report that our South Island Clubs have stepped up to prevent this from happening and volunteered their Clubs to host the following:
Juniors/ Youth – Sidney LBC
Triples – Gordon Head LBC
Men’s Singles – Canadian Pacific LBC or Vic West LBC
Women’s Singles – Canadian Pacific LBC or Vic West LBC
Men’s & Women’s Pairs – JDF LBC
Men’s & Women’s Fours – JDF LBC
As reported previously JDF are already hosting the Men’s & Women’s Pairs and there was the possibility of the Mixed Pairs, however in lieu of the mixed pairs we will now be hosting the Men’s & Women’s Fours and the mixed pairs will now be at Stanley Park LBC in Vancouver.
This is exciting news not only for our own Club but for all of the South Island Bowling Community to have the opportunity to be part of these Provincials by either spectating volunteering or participating.
As for the Senior Triples, Qualicum Beach LBC will be hosting the Men’s and Port Alberni LBC the Women’s with the Canadian Nationals to be held at Victoria LBC as previously mentioned.
The BC55+ Senior Games are separate to all of the above which as you already know we will also be hosting September 13th -17th.
