2021 Men’s Novice Champion

Congratulations to Steve Shulhan, our 2021 JDF LBC Men’s Novice Champion who went undefeated in round robin play and will represent our Club at the BSI Men’s Novice Championships being held at Burnside LBC on September 4th & 5th. Our runner up was Kim Wilson with 2 wins and 1 loss. Thank you and congratulations to all for taking part.

Masks Mandatory in Clubhouse & Bowls Room

Once again we are seeing a rise in the Covid 19 cases on South Island and our PHO has now made it Mandatory to wear Masks indoors. That means anytime you enter the Clubhouse & Bowls Room, you must be wearing a mask. No exceptions. Sanitize your hands when arriving and leaving the greens. Play Safe and Stay Safe.

Baking Needed for the Greenskeeper Tournament

Saturday Aug 28th we host the Greenskeepers Tournament. Coffee, Tea and Goodies will be available to the bowlers all day, for a nominal fee of ??$3.00.

We are putting out the call to all you bakers for a sampling of your baked goodies, please and thank you.

When you drop them off, place them within one of the fridges within Kitchen A (the real kitchen) and send Julie D an email. If need be we will move them to the freezers. If you are sending the baking in a container that you want back please put your name on it. Thank you

Congratulations Greenslade Winners

Our JDF Members, David M, Steve F & Gord O who came in second overall and  narrowly missing out on first place by three shots in the Bowls South Island Greenslade Men’s Triples held at Oak Bay LBC during the weekend.

Also to our Brent J along with Brent M & Mitch O’B of Oak Bay LBC who won First Place overall.

OSPREY CHALLENGE WINNERS

We had a total of 16 teams, three of which had players that game shared, bringing the total to 36 members playing games of Mixed Pairs.

Our Games Committee did an outstanding job, and as a result the tournament went off without a hitch, many thanks to Jack R, Nigel C, Wendy L & Pei Mei C.
