Hi everyone

This email is to let you all know that I am cancelling our Thursday Morning LB game for July 28th due to the heat.  While it cools off slightly overnight, it heats up again very quickly in the morning and I don’t think it is a wise choice to play when we don’t have to.

I am sorry for the lateness of this email but I was hopeful that the weather might cool down a bit…but it doesn’t seem like this will happen.

See you all next week….

Since there still has been a lack of participation from the other BC Zones, they have now decided that there can be an unlimited amount of teams representing South Island , therefore if you decide to enter you will still be representing Victoria area and not another Zone, even if you don’t have teammate(s) to enter with you will be matched up with other Victoria players.

The events are Mens Pairs, Womens Pairs, Mixed Pairs,Mixed Fours in two age groups,
55 to 69 & 70 plus, you can also enter up to two events, they have extended registration deadline to July 15th.

So if you are still interested contact June Byers as per below asap,         Phone 250 384 2385

Thank you to everyone that has donated baking, it was greatly appreciated by members and guests.  As we are in the height of tournament season, we could really use additional baking donations for the upcoming Provincial Pairs and Joan Price Quaddie.  Sweet treats such as cookies, squares, cakes, cupcakes and muffins are always appreciated.

On another note, we have quite a few containers that have transported your baking to the club. We have left the containers & pans washed, outside the kitchen door for your pick up.

For those of you who are considering on dropping by to have a look at some good competitive bowling there are 12 Mens Teams entered, 6 from Vancouver & District and 6 from Bowls South Island, 2 of which from JDF.

On the Women’s side there are 5 teams entered, 3 from Vancouver & District, 1 from Bowls South Island and 1 blended team consisting of V&D and  BSI Players.

If you are planning to stay awhile take advantage of the lunch or dinner specials as per Shannon’s email. We should have a games time schedule by tomorrow or Tuesday and Jack will forward that accordingly.

Our Monday Night Ladder is scheduled to start on Monday June 27th however to date we only have 5 or 6 signed up and without 16 to 20 participants it will not be viable to proceed and will be cancelled, so if you are a bit unsure on how it works ask one of your Games Committee or other senior bowler.

Again this is open to all bowlers regardless of skill level, it will normally be a pairs game subject to numbers attending and is good experience for everyone including novices.

So if you are thinking about it and sitting on the fence, give it a try and sign up on the sheet in the clubhouse,

As most of you are aware we are hosting the Provincial Fours & Pairs Championships in the first two weeks of July, (8, 9, 10 & 15, 16, 17) one of our responsibilities is to supply participants with lunch & dinner during the Competition as well as ‘Tea & Goodies’

Shannon is currently working on menu items but she will be in dire need of some kitchen help during this time in food preparation, serving and clean up, I am confident that our Members will step up to help and showcase our Club to the rest of the Province.

So if you can spare a 2 or 4 hour shift during this time or have any questions regarding please let Shannon know by e-mailing her at:

Your help is needed and appreciated.
